Account information: Your name, email address, and encrypted password when you create an account.
Scoring data: Property addresses you search, investment strategies selected, sale prices entered, and the resulting score reports.
Payment information: Subscription and billing details are processed by PayPal. We do not store your credit card numbers, bank account details, or PayPal credentials on our servers.
Usage data: We log basic access information including IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited to maintain security and improve the service.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: provide the property scoring service and maintain your score history; process subscriptions and manage your account; improve the accuracy and quality of our scoring algorithms; communicate important service updates; comply with legal obligations. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Property Ranker:
Anthropic (Claude AI): Property addresses and public and licensed third-party suburb data are sent to Anthropic's API for scoring analysis. Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and does not use it to train models.
PayPal: Payment processing is handled entirely by PayPal. Your financial details are governed by PayPal's privacy policy.
Cloudflare: We use Cloudflare for DNS, security, and performance. Cloudflare may process request metadata under their privacy policy.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers hosted in Australia. We protect your information using: encrypted passwords (bcrypt with cost factor 12); SSL/TLS encryption for all data in transit; secure session management with HTTP-only, SameSite cookies; prepared SQL statements to prevent injection attacks; CORS protection limiting API access to our domain. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong, unique password for your account.
6. Data Retention
Your score history and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. Property scores are cached for 7 days to avoid redundant analysis. If you delete your account, all associated data including scores, search history, and personal information will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Under the Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to: access the personal information we hold about you; request correction of any inaccurate information; request deletion of your account and associated data; lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy has been breached. 8. Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This cookie is HTTP-only, secure, and set with SameSite=Strict to prevent cross-site attacks. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.
